HAS GOD CAST HIS PEOPLE AWAY

Rom 11:1

Many give up the Christian life prematurely,

because they think that God is no longer with them.

That God cannot handle the situations in which they

find themselves.

When the trials of life beat vehemently upon the shore

of our lives we must know that there is a God and that

He is alive and working in our behalf.

He has not forsaken us nor betrayed us nor forgotten us.

As we look throughout history God has dealt with His

people in many ways but He has never cast them away.

The nation of Israel was God’s chosen people.

God blessed them as they followed Him.

God used the nation of Israel to prove that man could

not follow the rules necessary to get to heaven.

Yet God exercised judgment with mercy in the events

that lead from Abraham to Calvary.

God judges the nations.

Jer 12:17

17    But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and

destroy that nation, saith the LORD.

Jer 46:28

28    Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD:

for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations

whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of

thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee

wholly unpunished.

But God’s desire is that Israel may be saved.

Rom 10:1‑3

1    Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel

2    is, that they might be saved.

3    For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but

4    not according to knowledge.

3      For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and

going about to establish their own righteousness, have not

submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

God’s will is that people be save.

Rom 10:9-10

9      That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from

the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;

and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13

13    For whosoever shall call upon the name of the

Lord shall be saved.

God does not cast out people who trust Him.

We see the wickedness in this nation and we may think

God can not work among a people so corrupt as we have become.

Elijah thought he was alone in Israel during his ministry.

But God had a remnant who was faithful.

And God has a remnant today.

God has not nor will He ever cast out His people.

If you are saved today you must know that God will

never cast you out of His family nor His plan.

We can have perfect assurance that God will never cast us out.

I. BECAUSE OF HIS PASSION FOR THE

   BELIEVER.

John 3:16

16    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

A. Enough to send His Son to Calvary.

2 Cor 5:21

21    For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;

that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1) He left the comforts of heaven to come to a sin sick world.

2) He did only good during His stay here.

Healing the sick

Preaching to the lost

3) He laid down His life

at Gethsemane

Before the high priest (slapped mocked)

Before Pilate

Before Herod (mocked)

Before Pilate

whipped with a cat of nine tails

He walked through the angry mob carrying the cross

(Spat upon Him, pulled His beard from His face)

His hands and feet are pierced

The cross the plunged into the ground and our Saviour

is displayed between God and men.

A humiliating, painful death intended for only the vilest sinner

Jesus died for the vilest sinner.

No one who comes to Jesus will be denied.

B. Enough to change our character.

1 Cor 6:11

11    And such were some of you: but ye are washed,

but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the

Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Eph 1:3‑4

3      Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus

Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings

in heavenly places in Christ:

4      According as he hath chosen us in him before the

foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without

blame before him in love:

Eph 5:25‑27

25    Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved

the church, and gave himself for it;

26    That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing

of water by the word,

27    That he might present it to himself a glorious church,

not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it

should be holy and without blemish.

I Jn 1:9

9      If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to

forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

II. BECAUSE OF HIS PROMISES TO THE BELIEVER.

A. Eternal life

John 3:14‑16

14    And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,

even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15    That whosoever believeth in him should not perish,

but have eternal life.

16    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only

begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should

not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 6:27

27    Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for

that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which

the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God

the Father sealed.

2 Cor 5:1

1      For we know that if our earthly house of this

tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of

God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the

heavens.

Gal 6:8

8      For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh

reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall

of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Titus 1:2

2      In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie,

promised before the world began;

I Jn 5:11‑13

11    And this is the record, that God hath given to us

eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12    He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath

not the Son of God hath not life.

13    These things have I written unto you that believe

on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that

ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name

of the Son of God.

B. Fellowship

Heb 13:5

5      Let your conversation be without covetousness;

and be content with such things as ye have: for he

hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Phil 1:5‑6

5      For your fellowship in the gospel from the first

day until now;

6      Being confident of this very thing, that he which

hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the

day of Jesus Christ:

Phil 2:1‑2

1      If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any

comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels

and mercies,

2      Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the

same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

I Jn 1:3

3      That which we have seen and heard declare

we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with

us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and

with his Son Jesus Christ.

C. All Our Need

Matt 6:33

33    But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his

righteousness; and all these things shall be added

unto you.

Phil 4:19

19    But my God shall supply all your need according

to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

D. To answer our prayer

Ps 9:10

10    And they that know thy name will put their trust

in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that

seek thee.

Matt 21:22

22    And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in

prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

John 15:7

7      If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you,

ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto

you.

Rom 8:26

26    Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:

but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with

groanings which cannot be uttered.

Heb 4:16

16    Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of

grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help

in time of need.

James 5:16

16    Confess your faults one to another, and pray one

for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent

prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I Jn 5:14‑15

14    And this is the confidence that we have in him,

that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15    And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask,

we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

III. BECAUSE OF HIS PLAN FOR THE BELIEVER

A. For the Universe

1 Chr 29:11

11    Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and

the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in

the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom,

O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Rom 13:1

1    Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers.

2    For there is no power but of God: the powers that

3    be are ordained of God.

B. A plan for nations

Ps 22:28

28    For the kingdom is the LORD’s:

and he is the governor among the nations.

C. Plan for man

Ps 139:13-16

13    For thou hast possessed my reins:

thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14    I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and

wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works;

and that my soul knoweth right well.

15    My substance was not hid from thee,

when I was made in secret, and curiously

wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16    Thine eyes did see my substance, yet

being unperfect; and in thy book all my members

were written, which in continuance were fashioned,

when as yet there was none of them.

Jer 1:5

4    Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and

5    before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified

6    thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Rom 8:28

28    And we know that all things work together for good

to them that love God, to them who are the called according

to his purpose.

Rom 12:1-2

1      I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of

God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,

acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2      And be not conformed to this world: but be ye

transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may

prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,

will of God.

God will never cast us out because He has a passionate

love for us, because He promised never to leave us and

much more and because He has a plan for us.

If you fear that you are all alone, come and renew your

commitments to God. He is with you.

He will not leave you alone.
