John 3:16

  For God so loved..

Why did God give man this wonderful gift?

Because God loves man beyond our

  comprehension of the word love.

  God Agape's man.

Job 7:17 What is man, that thou shouldest

           magnify him? and that thou

           shouldest set thine heart upon

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love

toward us, in that, while we

were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:8  8 He that loveth not knoweth

not God; for God is love.

9 In this was manifested the

love of God toward us, because

that God sent his only begotten

Son into the world, that we

             might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we

loved God, but that he loved us,

and sent his Son to be the

             propitiation for our sins.

Rom 8:38‑39 38 For I am persuaded, that

              neither death, nor life, nor

              angels, nor principalities, nor

              powers, nor things present, nor

              things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor

              any other creature, shall be

able to separate us from the

love of God, which is in Christ

              Jesus our Lord.

Lets examine God's gift in three aspects.

  Revealing the gift

  Reason for the gift

  Recipient of the gift

     Just What did God give?

     A. God gave His Son

Jesus had been with the Father from

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in

our image, after our likeness: and

let them have dominion over the

fish of the sea, and over the fowl

of the air, and over the cattle,

and over all the earth, and over

           every creeping thing that creepeth

           upon the earth.

Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there

           confound their language, that they

           may not understand one another's

Prov 8:22 22 The LORD possessed me in the

beginning of his way, before his

            works of old.

23 I was set up from everlasting,

from the beginning, or ever the

            earth was.

24 When there were no depths, I

            was brought forth; when there

            were no fountains abounding with

            25 Before the mountains were

settled, before the hills was I

            brought forth:

26 While as yet he had not made

the earth, nor the fields, nor

the highest part of the dust of

            the world.

27 When he prepared the heavens,

I was there: when he set a

compass upon the face of the

28 When he established the clouds

            above: when he strengthened the

            fountains of the deep:

29 When he gave to the sea his

            decree, that the waters should

not pass his commandment: when he

            appointed the foundations of the

30 Then I was by him, as one

brought up with him: and I was

            daily his delight, rejoicing

            always before him;

            31 Rejoicing in the habitable

part of his earth; and my

delights were with the sons of

32 Now therefore hearken unto me,

O ye children: for blessed are

            they that keep my ways.

33 Hear instruction, and be wise,

            and refuse it not.

34 Blessed is the man that

heareth me, watching daily at my

gates, waiting at the posts of my

35 For whoso findeth me findeth

life, and shall obtain favour of

            the LORD.

36 But he that sinneth against me

wrongeth his own soul: all they

            that hate me love death.

John 1:1  1 In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God, and the

           Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning

           with God.

            3 All things were made by him;

and without him was not any thing

           made that was made.

John 6:62 What and if ye shall see the Son

of man ascend up where he was

John 8:56 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced

to see my day: and he saw it, and

            was glad.

57 Then said the Jews unto him,

Thou art not yet fifty years old,

            and hast thou seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily,

verily, I say unto you, Before

            Abraham was, I am.

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou

me with thine own self with the

glory which I had with thee

            before the world was.

     B. His only begotten Son

Through Jesus many shall be made

          the sons of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to

them gave he power to become the

sons of God, even to them that

            believe on his name:

But there is and ever will be only one

"only begotten Son" That is born of the

seed of the woman but also

His conception is by the Holy Spirit

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said

unto her, The Holy Ghost shall

come upon thee, and the power of

            the Highest shall overshadow

            thee: therefore also that holy

thing which shall be born of thee

shall be called the Son of God.

Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise

him; he hath put him to grief:

when thou shalt make his soul an

offering for sin, he shall see

his seed, he shall prolong his

days, and the pleasure of the

LORD shall prosper in his hand.

  Christ voluntarily came

Matt 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not

to be ministered unto, but to

minister, and to give his life a

             ransom for many.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good

shepherd giveth his life for the

Heb 2:9  9 But we see Jesus, who was made a

little lower than the angels for

          the suffering of death, crowned

with glory and honour; that he by

the grace of God should taste death

          for every man.

10 For it became him, for whom are

all things, and by whom are all

things, in bringing many sons unto

glory, to make the captain of their

          salvation perfect through

     A. To save man from the consequence of

     his sin

          2. Rom 3:23

          3. Rev 20:14‑15

Matt 10:28 And fear not them which kill the

body, but are not able to kill

the soul: but rather fear him

which is able to destroy both

             soul and body in hell.

Matt 13:49 49 So shall it be at the end of

the world: the angels shall come

forth, and sever the wicked from

             among the just,

50 And shall cast them into the

furnace of fire: there shall be

             wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Matt 22:13 Then said the king to the

             servants, Bind him hand and

foot, and take him away, and

             cast him into outer darkness;

             there shall be weeping and

             gnashing of teeth.

Matt 25:28 28 Take therefore the talent

from him, and give it unto him

             which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath

shall be given, and he shall

             have abundance: but from him

that hath not shall be taken

away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable

             servant into outer darkness:

             there shall be weeping and

             gnashing of teeth.

Matt 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them

on the left hand, Depart from

             me, ye cursed, into everlasting

fire, prepared for the devil and

             his angels:

Matt 25:46 And these shall go away into

             everlasting punishment: but the

             righteous into life eternal.

Rev 14:10 10 The same shall drink of the

wine of the wrath of God, which

            is poured out without mixture

            into the cup of his indignation;

and he shall be tormented with

            fire and brimstone in the

presence of the holy angels, and

in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment

ascendeth up for ever and ever:

and they have no rest day nor

night, who worship the beast and

            his image, and whosoever

receiveth the mark of his name.

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them

was cast into the lake of fire

            and brimstone, where the beast

and the false prophet are, and

shall be tormented day and night

            for ever and ever.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving,

           and the abominable, and murderers,

           and whoremongers, and sorcerers,

           and idolaters, and all liars,

shall have their part in the lake

           which burneth with fire and
