We like Eliezer are servants of God.

Eliezer was pleaseing to his master.

I think he is a perfect model of the

Christian worker.

If we want to please God with our

life I believe there are several

aspects of this incident concerning

the servant that can encourage us.

I. THE SERVANT WAS OBEDIENT

This obedience came as a result of:

     A. Conviction (vs 3)

He had to have a conviction that

this was the right thing to do.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which

           is the Holy Ghost, whom

           the Father will send in

           my name, he shall teach

           you all things, and bring

           all things to your

           remembrance, whatsoever I

           have said unto you.

John 16:7‑8  7 Nevertheless I tell

            you the truth; It is

            expedient for you that I

go away: for if I go not

            away, the Comforter will

            not come unto you; but

if I depart, I will send

            him unto you.

8 And when he is come,

            he will reprove the

            world of sin, and of

            righteousness, and of

            judgment: (KJV)

     B. Obedience Came As a Result

        of Committment    (vs 9)

show me a person with no

       conviction and I'll show you

       a person with no committment.

The degree of committment a person

shows is proportional to the

conviction he has.

Deut 6:5 And thou shalt love the

LORD thy God with all thine

         heart, and with all thy

         soul, and with all thy

         might. (KJV)

Josh 24:15 And if it seem evil unto

           you to serve the LORD,

           choose you this day whom

           ye will serve; whether

           the gods which your

           fathers served that were

on the other side of the

flood, or the gods of the

           Amorites, in whose land

ye dwell: but as for me

           and my house, we will

           serve the LORD. (KJV)

Isaiah 50:7 For the Lord GOD will

            help me; therefore shall

            I not be confounded:

            therefore have I set my

face like a flint, and I

know that I shall not be

            ashamed. (KJV)

Col 1:23 If ye continue in the faith

         grounded and settled, and

be not moved away from the

         hope of the gospel, which

         ye have heard, and which

         was preached to every

         creature which is under

         heaven; whereof I Paul am

         made a minister; (KJV)

2 Thes 2:15 Therefore, brethren,

            stand fast, and hold the

            traditions which ye have

            been taught, whether by

            word, or our epistle.

1 Cor 15:58 Therefore, my beloved

            brethren, be ye

            stedfast, unmoveable,

            always abounding in the

            work of the Lord,

            forasmuch as ye know

            that your labour is not

            in vain in the Lord.

II. HE HAD A PLAN

     A. Bathed in prayer (vs 12)

Job 22:27 Thou shalt make thy prayer

          unto him, and he shall

          hear thee, and thou shalt

          pay thy vows. (KJV)

Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the LORD

             are upon the righteous,

             and his ears are open

             unto their cry. (KJV)

Prov 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge

         him, and he shall direct

         thy paths. (KJV)

Prov 10:24 The fear of the wicked,

           it shall come upon him:

           but the desire of the

           righteous shall be

           granted. (KJV)

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask,

            we receive of him,

            because we keep his

            commandments, and do

            those things that are

            pleasing in his sight.

     B. Backed By Performance

          1. He went to the right

             place

He went where God sent Him

Ps 37:23 The steps of a good man are

ordered by the LORD: and he

         delighteth in his way.

     2. He conveys the message

     3. He allows a decision

     4. He follows up

There can be no compromise. We are

not here to bring the church down to

the sinners standards, but to bring

sinners up to God's standards.

Through salvation and regeneration.

III. HE WAS THANKFUL

     A. For God's leading

Psalms 50:14 Offer unto God

             thanksgiving; and pay

             thy vows unto the most

             High: (KJV)

     B. for God's working

2 Cor 2:14 Now thanks be unto God,

           which always causeth us

           to triumph in Christ, and

           maketh manifest the

           savour of his knowledge

           by us in every place.

Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that

            ye were the servants of

            sin, but ye have obeyed

            from the heart that form

            of doctrine which was

            delivered you. (KJV)

2 Thes 1:3 We are bound to thank God

           always for you, brethren,

           as it is meet, because

           that your faith groweth

           exceedingly, and the

           charity of every one of

           you all toward each other

           aboundeth; (KJV)

1 Tim 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus

           our Lord, who hath

           enabled me, for that he

           counted me faithful,

           putting me into the

           ministry;
