THE DEDICATED LIFE

ROM 12:1‑2

M. R. DeHann, in speaking of dedication once said, "Thousands of believers have been saved and have ALL of the HOLY SPIRIT, but have never allowed the HOLY SPIRIT to have all of them.

What is needed is a once for all dedication of our lives, a full surrender to Christ in the heart, as Lord and Master.

Today I would ask you to consider dedicating your life to Him once and for all never to be repeated.

In these two verses we have:

I. AN APPEAL TO DEDICATION.

By God.

God begs those who are his to give Him their bodies.

     B. By God's Mercies.

Because of all of God's mercies.

Justification

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be     joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself

with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Sanctification

1 Cor 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and       the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your

conscience from dead works to    serve the living God?

Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus      Christ once for all.

Identification

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and       truth.

Galatians 4:4

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

1 Timothy 2:5

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Preservation

Psalms 121:8

8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Isaiah 25:8

8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Galatians 6:8

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

glorification

Heb 2:10

1 Corinthians 15:43

43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

Philippians 3:21

21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

God urges us to present our bodies to Him for His use.

II. THE ACT OF DEDICATION

     A. Is to be voluntary         "present"

     B. Is to be personal "ye" ...              "your"

     C. Is to be sacrificial

"living sacrifice"

     D. Is to be holy "holy"

set apart for God

     E. Is acceptable to God

Well pleasing to God

     F. Is definite

     G. Is to be complete (body) – Rom 12:1

Members

Romans 6:13

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Self

2 Corinthians 8:5

5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

III. THE ACHIEVEMENT OF DEDICATION

     A. There Will Be separation

"and be not conformed to this world"

2 Cor 6:17‑18

17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

     B. There will be transformation

"be ye transformed"

Isa 1:16‑20

16  Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17  Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

18  Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20  But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

2 Cor 5:17

17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

    C. There will be Illumination

"that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God"

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Why don't we just claim this verse and put God first?

God will meet our every need if we put Him first.
